• AVSP 2007 (The International Conference on Auditory-Visual Speech Processing 2007)

  Auditory-visual speech production and perception by human and machine is an interdisciplinary and cross-linguistic field which has attracted speech scientists, cognitive psychologists, phoneticians, computational engineers, and researchers in language learning studies. Since the inaugural workshop in Bonas in 1995, Auditory-Visual Speech Processing workshops have been organised on a regular basis. In line with previous meetings, this conference will consist of a mixture of regular presentations (both posters and oral), and lectures by invited speakers. All presentations will be plenary.
  
  
• SIGdial 2007 (The 8th SIGdial Workshop on Discourse and Dialogue)
  September 1-2, 2007, Antwerp, Belgium
  Attention: After polling reviewers and paper authors, it was decided to change the date from the previously advertised September 2-3 to September 1-2, immediately after Interspeech 2007.
  
  Continuing with a series of successful workshops in Sydney, Lisbon, Boston, Sapporo, Philadelphia, Aalborg, and Hong Kong, this workshop spans the research interest area of discourse and dialogue. This series provides a regular forum for the presentation of research in this area to both the larger SIGdial community as well as researchers outside this community. The workshop is organized by SIGDIAL, the Special Interest Group on Discourse and Dialogue, which is sponsored jointly by the Association for Computational Linguistics and the International Speech Communication Association.
  
  
• Young Researchers' Roundtable on Spoken Dialog Systems 2007
  September 3, 2007, Antwerp, Belgium
  Attention: The workshop date has changed to September 3rd. Since SigDial has been rescheduled, it was decided to move YRRSDS from Sept 1st (as previously advertised) to the new date Sept 3rd to allow participants to join both workshops.
  
  The Young Researchers' Roundtable on Spoken Dialog Systems is an annual workshop designed for students, post docs, and junior researchers working in applied spoken dialog systems research. The roundtable provides an open forum where participants can discuss their research interests, current work and future plans. The workshop is meant to foster creative thinking about current issues in spoken dialog systems research, and help create a stronger international network of young researchers working in the field. Previous workshops were held in Pittsburgh (Interspeech 2006) and Lisbon (Interspeech 2005).
  
  
• SSW6 (6th ISCA Workshop on Speech Synthesis)
  August 22-24, 2007, Bonn, Germany
  
  The Sixth ISCA Tutorial and Research Workshop (ITRW) on Speech Synthesis will take place at the University of Bonn, in Germany. It is co-sponsored by the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA), the ISCA Special Interest Group on Speech Synthesis (SynSIG), and the Institute of Communication Sciences (IfK), University of Bonn. Like its predecessors in Autrans (France) 1990, New Paltz (NY, USA) 1994, Jenolan (Australia) 1998, Pitlochry (UK) 2001, and Pittsburgh (PA, USA) 2004, SSW-6 will cover all aspects of speech synthesis and adjacent fields.
  
  
• Temporal Dynamics in Speech and Hearing

  This one-day workshop will focus on those aspects of auditory and higher-cortical function germane to analysis, decoding and interpretation of biologically relevant information encoded in the signal’s temporal structure. Of particular interest is the role of modulatory processes for encoding and decoding information germane to communication and environmental navigation (e.g., spoken language, auditory scene analysis, acoustic spatialization, musical dynamics) as well as computational approaches for exploiting such information for technology applications.
